Annual General Meeting 5th October
03rd September 2013
Once a year the Allotment Association holds it's annual general meeting. These meetings are crucial, not just because they form part of the group constitution and we are required as a committee to hold such a forum, but it also gives everyone the opportunity to express a view or opinion. It is also the time of year when the financial accounts for the year are produced, and the appointment, or re appointment of the committee and officers of the Association.
This year has again seen plenty of activity on the site, with new fencing, young trees being planted around the periphery, concrete base laid for the manure, and as can be seen from the web site we have been short listed for the grand awards with Chelmsford City Council to secure a grant to plant an orchard on the vacant grass areas at the top of the site. In addition to this we held a very successful strawberry fair event mid year, and coming up we have the annual mulled wine and coffee morning at Christmas which the author of this article is particularly looking forward to (particularly the mulled wine and mince pies!!!)
There is a lot of work that gets undertaken behind the scenes, and it with grateful thanks that we owe these individuals for time and effort given up to ensure that we have a thriving and pleasant community.
We would therefore be very grateful for as many members as possible to attend on the 5th October, commencing at 10.30 am so that we can generate the widest possible viewpoint for the coming year and the continuing well being of the Association.
If you have any items that you would specifically like to discuss, please contact Carolyn Russell (plot 10f0 or telephone 01245 350059 by the 20th September so that we may include.
We look forward to seeing you.
