Pruning Day
14th January 2023
In: General News

The best efforts of the weather did not deter 20 hardy souls from taking part in an Apple and Pear pruning day at Melbourne Park Allotments. The day organised by the Wilderness Foundation highlighted best pruning practice and provided hands on practical experience using the trees on the Foundation plots, together with the trees in the Site's community Orchard.

Carolin delivered the information in a clear and concise fashion, with contributions from Peter Hunnable and Foggie Hau to provide a comprehensive view on what to look for, how to and when.

Refreshments were available for all from the trading hut, and despite the best attempts for the heavens to detract from the day, believe everyone had a great day and departed with some valuable hints and tips.

A big thank you to Carolin and Karen for all the organisation which went into the day, to Peter and Foggie for their contributions and support, and for all those who turned up and supported the event.
