Recipes

All of the initial intention of this page rather dwindled and regrettably no new recipe has been added for some considerable time. The idea was that with all the produce that our hard effort and toil delivered could be complimented with a recipe page or pages, where some different ideas could be shared or used. Whilst by no means having found the right method to keep this page going, there are some new recipes attached in the documents under. At this point, just a few winter ideas, and hopefully we will be able to add to the document download list in time with spring, summer and autumn ideas.

Having toiled all through the year, tending and tilling the land, sewing the seed, watering, watering, weeding, and more watering during the summer, right through to harvesting of all that lovely produce - what then? Just in case you are short of ideas for what to do with all of your fruit and vegetables, we thought that the Melbourne Park Recipe page may come to the rescue.

Plum and Almond Crisp

Ingredients
50g Butter
100g soft white breadcrumbs
50g flaked almonds
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
450g plums, stoned and lightly poached
whipping or double cream to serve.

This is one of my personal favourites, Plum and Almond Crisp. Regrettably the photograph does not really do this justice, but imagine a crispy almond topping, with luscious plums, drizzled with cream...... This recipe is versatile, and other fruit, or nut combinations can be used.

Method
(1) Melt the butter in a pan. Stir in breadcrumbs, sugar, almonds and cinnamon.
(2) Put the plums in a pie dish, then sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture over the top.
(3) Bake in a pre heated overn for 30-35 minutes. Serve cold (I prefer hot) with cream.
